The township is on the coast, with rural land and canefields behind it along Beachmere Road. Why does my hot water tank rust faster here?
Salt air corrodes the tank, the relief valve and the fittings faster than inland. Keeping the sacrificial anode fresh slows it; a tank leaking from the base is past that point.
