Reseal and regrout

Test
The shower is run and the dry side checked before the job is called finished.
When waterproofing has failed
Resealing fixes leaks at the surface. If the waterproof membrane under the tiles has failed, water gets through no matter how good the silicone is, and the honest fix is to strip and re-waterproof the shower. Can a leaking shower be fixed without removing the tiles?
Often, yes. Seal and grout failures are repaired from the surface, and a leaking tap set or shower arm is usually reached through the wall behind. A failed waterproof membrane is the case where tiles have to come out.
How long does resealing last?
A properly prepared and applied silicone seal lasts years. The seal fails early when it is applied over old silicone, on a damp surface or on a base that moves.
Is mould on the other side of the wall a plumbing problem?
It is a moisture problem, and a leaking shower is the most common source. We test the shower's supply and seals to find which it is.
