Burst pipe, sewer overflowing, no water, a smell of gas? Call 1300 568 203, tell us what is happening and we will tell you straight away when the next licensed plumber can get to you and what to do in the meantime. The repair price is agreed before any work starts.
If water or gas is going somewhere it should not, do not wait. Here is what we treat as urgent, and what to do while you wait.
Turn the water off at the meter and call. We stop the leak, repair the pipe and help you limit the damage.
Stop using water inside and call. We clear the blockage and advise on cleaning up the overflow area.
Turn the gas off at the meter, open windows, no flames or switches. Our licensed gas fitter finds and fixes the leak, as Queensland law requires.
Check with a neighbour first. If it is only your place, a burst or a failed valve is likely and we will find it.
Turn off the cold-water isolation tap on the tank and the power or gas. We assess whether it is a valve or the cylinder.
Do not keep flushing. We clear the blockage and check the line so it does not come straight back.
The main isolation tap is usually near the meter at the front boundary. Turn it clockwise.
If water is near power points or lights, switch off that circuit at the switchboard first.
Lift rugs and move furniture and electronics away from the water.
With a blocked sewer, every flush and shower adds to the overflow. Hold off until we arrive.
We will never charge urgency for something that can safely wait a few hours. Tell us what is happening and we will say honestly which one it is.
The plumber stops the water or gas first, works out the cause and gives you the price before the repair starts.

The repair price is agreed before work starts, the same way as any other job. We do not add urgency to something that could have waited.
